It can often be discouraging when you’re on a tight budget but you still want to make your home beautiful. That’s why I’m sharing the best home decor stores for quality products on a budget. You don’t need to spend tens of thousands of dollars. You just need to know where to look.
Many people often head straight to furniture stores when shopping for their homes. There’s nothing wrong with this, but for those on a budget like our household, it’s impossible to afford. Most furniture stores price couches at $2,000 and up and rugs at $1,000 and up. I know when we moved into the townhome rental we’re in now, this was very discouraging. I never thought I’d have a nice couch. That’s when I started my research.
Before we dive into the best 10 online home goods stores, I want to say a few quick tips. Find a style you love, then price-check this exact piece of furniture on different websites. This will help you find the best deal for the decor you want. Also, be sure to sign up for the store’s email subscription to get a discount code. You can unsubscribe to the sequence later. This will help you save tons! We saved $400 on our organic mattress this way and $300 on our couch!
Home Goods is one of my favorite budget-friendly online home goods stores. They have so many designs that look like they’re from high-end stores. They have 5’x7’ rugs that range between $50 and $70. We got a vintage area rug for our living room for only $59.99! When I price-checked this rug before visiting our Home Goods, this rug was priced between $200-$500.
Joss & Main
Joss & Main is a smaller online home goods store but offers tons of decor options! Decorative vases and stoneware start at $40. Indoor decorative planters for plant lovers start at $18. These planters are gorgeous! You’ll find designs that look expensive without the high price tags.
If you’re looking for a quality couch that looks expensive without costing thousands of dollars, World Market is your go-to! When we were looking for a couch, I had my heart set on a cream-colored, L shape sectional but it was going to cost $3,000. That was not in our budget. So I set out to find something similar that was made of quality material, could withstand our 100lb Doberman Pinscher, and looked beautiful. That’s when I found World Market. I signed up for their email list and got our cream, L shape sectional for only $800!
Another perk of shopping at World Market for home decor is their natural materials. Our couch is considered nontoxic due to no formaldehyde in the wood or fire retardants that cause hormone imbalance. Many couches are covered in harmful chemicals so this was a huge plus!
Hayneedle is a one-stop shop for all things home. No matter your home design, you’ll find beautiful pieces to create the style you desire. If you aren’t sure what design you like, no problem. On their website, you can browse the different pieces in each style category. There are so many to choose from including: modern, bohemian, traditional, coastal, farmhouse, cottage, midcentury, industrial, and more.
If you’re looking for lamps in specific, Hayneedle is your place to shop. They’ve got a huge selection of lamps under $50. Some table lamps start at only $18.
I know what you’re thinking, “Walmart? Why would I want to get my decor from a grocery store?”. Trust me, you’ll thank me when you start shopping. Walmart has its very own collection: Mainstays. You can find beautiful pieces to add in your home. No one will ever know you got them here!
Also if you’re looking for picture frames, Walmart is your place to shop! They’ve got a huge variety of options that won’t break the bank.
Target has tons of home decor options that many people never browse. From blankets to decorative laundry baskets, you’ll find beautiful pieces to add to your home. One of my favorites are their $12 table lamps. They’re budget-friendly and absolutely stunning! These lamps come in multiple base colors.
If you’re looking for new bedding to spruce up your bedroom, this will be your place to shop! They’ve even got organic sheet sets to keep toxins out of your bed at a budget-friendly price.
H&M isn’t just a clothing store, they’ve got a well-made line of home decor as well. If you’re looking for those finishing touches to a room, this will be your go-to online home goods store. The options for home organization on a budget are amazing here! From laundry folding baskets to glass jars for the pantry, they’ve got it all.
TJ Maxx’s home line is one of the best. They’ve got their website laid out for simple, organized shopping. You can select a certain room you’re looking to design and get started shopping their catalog. If you’re not sure which room you want to design first, shop by category or even style!
Few people know about Burkes Outlet. I had to do some online digging to find this home décor store. There are some in-person locations, but not to worry they have online shopping as well. Throw pillows here are insanely affordable but they look gorgeous! Most of them range from $15-$35. That’s a bargain you won’t find many places!
People either love or hate IKEA. I personally love it! IKEA allows you to create a home you love without breaking the bank. Their room designs allow you to style one room at a time without feeling overwhelmed. If you shop in person, you’ll be able to go through different showrooms to see everything laid out. I highly recommend it! Their products are well made and last a good while!
