Meatloaf Burgers

These meatloaf burgers are made from scratch with wholesome ingredients and homemade ketchup. You can grill, bake, or pan-sear them. These burgers allow you to have meatloaf in less than half the time! That's why they've become one of our go-to recipes for busy weeknights. I hope they become a go-to for you too!

Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Patties

  • 1/2 lb ground hamburger
  • 1/2 of an onion (yellow or white)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs I like to use homemade(can substitute for all-purpose flour)
  • 1 Tbsp raw honey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions
 

Make the Patties

  • Dice the onion finely and place in a large mixing bowl
  • Add the rest of the ingredients besides the ones for the sauce and mix together with a fork.
  • Shape meatloaf mixture into 4 patties with your hands or a spoon. Make them 1-inch thick.

Stovetop Cooking Option

  • Prepare a skillet on medium heat with a little avocado oil or butter in it (about 1 tsp or so)
  • Cook on one side for 8 minutes over medium heat
  • Flip and cook another 8-10 minutes
  • Top with sauce (optional)

Oven-Baked Option

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper
  • Place the burgers 2 inches apart and cover with sauce (optional)
  • Bake for 22-25 minutes or until completely cooked and the outsides are browned.

Grilled Option

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat
  • Once the grill is hot cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Flip the patties and cook another 4-5 until cooked all the way through.
  • Add sauce on top if desired after you flip them.
