This pumpkin chai latte is made from scratch, perfectly sweetened with honey, and spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. My husband and I absolutely love this fall drink; it not only tastes better than coffee shop versions but it's cheaper too!
1/2cuphalf and half(choose a brand with no additives)
1Tbsp100% pumpkin purée
4tsphoney(raw, unfiltered is my favorite)
1/2tspground cinnamon
a pinch - 1/16 tsp ground nutmeg
a pinch - 1/16 tsp ground clove
1black tea bag(Tazo organic breakfast tea is my favorite)
Instructions
Heat water in a pot or kettle, almost to a boil but not quite.
While water is heating, in a small saucepan add half and half, pumpkin, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Whisk to combine. Heat over medium heat until steam starts coming off the top, don’t let this boil or simmer.
Pour hot water over tea bag in a mug and let steep for 30 seconds.
Pour pumpkin mixture in and stir to combine. Leave tea bag in for at least 5 minutes then remove when ready.
Top with a sprinkle of extra cinnamon. If desired, add more honey to taste if you want it sweeter. Enjoy!
