Homemade Honey Mustard (Better Than Store-Bought!)
You can make my homemade honey mustard in only 1 minute! That’s right; it’s that simple! It’s a quick sauce that tastes so much better than store-bought! It’s sweet, tangy, and so creamy. My mom loves this sauce; after one taste, she was hooked! You can use it as a dip or salad dressing, or any other way you desire. I love dipping oven-baked chicken tenders in it! This recipe includes a video tutorial so you can make it alongside me, step-by-step!

If you enjoy honey mustard, this sauce will strengthen that love! The premade bottles at the grocery store don’t even compare to the flavor when you make it homemade.
There’s something about making sauce from scratch that intensifies the taste. All I know is I will never buy honey mustard again!
I might just pack a little in my purse when we go to restaurants, haha, or maybe I shouldn’t I spill anything that goes in my purse. I’ve already had a BBQ disaster!
Inspiration Behind My Homemade Honey Mustard Recipe
A few months ago, my husband and I got back from church and needed a quick meal. I didn’t want to just throw the same sandwich together, so I started whipping up a honey mustard sauce. I just threw some ingredients together without worrying about measuring.
Fast forward a few weeks, and my mom was visiting for the long weekend. I made my oven-fried chicken tenders and got what was left of my homemade honey mustard out for dipping. She gave it one taste and was blown away.
I was not only surprised but shocked that my last-minute sauce from weeks ago was being enjoyed that much. After supper, she said I had to get it developed into a recipe and put on the blog, so that’s what I did! Now, this sauce will always make me think of her. I hope you love it just as much as we do!
What Does Honey Mustard Taste Like?
Honey mustard tastes just like it sounds. You get the flavors of honey, mustard, salt, and a little tang from vinegar. Then there’s additional creaminess from the mayo that does something special when mixed with the other ingredients. If you love mustard, you’ll love this sauce!

Why You’ll Love My Honey Mustard
- Wholesome Ingredients: Each ingredient is wholesome, especially if you use raw honey, unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar, organic mustard, and a clean mayo.
- Only Takes 1-Minute: You simply whisk the ingredients together; it takes 1 minute!
- Lasts for a Month: If stored in an airtight container in the fridge, it’ll last for an entire month.
- Perfect Dipping Sauce: You can dip any food you’d like in this sauce!
- Better Than Store-Bought: Like I said earlier in this blog post, it’s so much better than anything you’ll buy at the grocery store.
My Tips for Making This Recipe
- For a wholesome honey mustard, use organic mustard, raw unfiltered honey, raw apple cider vinegar, sea salt, and a mayo with clean ingredients (or make your own).
- Use a whisk to combine this sauce. It ensures everything is mixed perfectly.
