How to Make Foaming Hand Soap Recipe

  1. First, add castile soap to mason jar (or foaming pump soap jar)
  2. Next, add water to jar and add foaming top on until tight
  3. Finally, shake the jar for 30 seconds or until combined, and use it when you’re ready!

Foaming Soap vs Regular Hand Soap

Regular hand soap is usually a gel-type substance that is either clear or creamy. This is used with a gel soap pump top that allows the liquid to easily flow up the tube and into your hand. Regular hand soap is not meant to be diluted with water. Foaming hand soap is made from a concentrate such as pure castile soap that is meant to be diluted with water. You use a foaming pump top to use this soap which adds air to the mixture when pumping into your hand. They both work equally well if used correctly!

FAQ

Can I use a regular pump for foaming hand soap? No, you’ll need a foaming soap pump but no worries, they’re very affordable. Check out my favorite foaming hand pump tops. They fit on a regular mason jar.

Can you turn regular hand soap into foaming hand soap? No, regular hand soap is not meant to be watered down but castile soap is meant for it and is extra concentrated to do these DIY projects.

What castile soap is best for foaming hand soap? My favorite is Whole Naturals Pure Castile Soap. It is EGW verified, organic, and Non-GMO which means it’s truly safe and healthy for your body. I use this castile soap for everything, DIY hand soap, bathroom scrub, all-purpose cleaner, and even laundry soap. It never causes my sensitive skin to have issues.

What makes soap foam? The foaming pump top adds air to the soap solution and allows it to foam.
