Best Canned Tomatoes for Marinara Sauce

The best canned tomatoes for marinara sauce are diced and organic. Organic tomatoes not only taste better, but they’re much better for you.

Non-organic tomatoes are full of pesticides because of their thin skin. That’s why buying organic, even when they’re canned, is important.

Storing Instructions

The best way to store this marinara is in a glass container or jar with an airtight lid. I enjoy using a mason jar to do this. It’ll last 3-4 days in the fridge.

Freezing Instructions

To freeze, simply place the sauce in freezer safe glass containers, or baggies, and freeze up to 6 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight when you’re ready to use it.

How to Reheat Marinara Sauce

To reheat the sauce, you can warm it over medium heat in a saucepan. Or you can heat it in a glass oven-safe jar on 350 degrees until warm. About 5-10 minutes.

Can I make this sauce out of fresh tomatoes?

Yes you can just cut them into chunks before blending. You’ll need 1 1/2 cups of diced fresh tomatoes.

Can I use fire roasted tomatoes?

Sure! This will add a smokey flavor to your marinara.
