If you leave your sourdough starter out on the counter at room temperature, you’ll need to feed it every 12 hours. However, if you place it in the fridge, you don’t need to feed it for up to a week.

Is it cheaper to make staples from scratch with sourdough?

Yes! It’s so much cheaper because you’re making it from simple ingredients at home. Also, you’re not paying for the labor behind the item being made.
