Turkey Apple Sandwich (with cheddar on sourdough)

Sometimes you need a light, refreshing turkey apple sandwich. It’s got the perfect flavor combination of savory turkey, sweet apple, the tang of sourdough bread, and mild cheddar. During the summer, we love whipping up this sandwich for quick and easy lunches at home. It’s always just what we need!

While watching a sitcom a few months ago, the family on there was eating turkey sandwiches with slices of apple on them. At first I thought that would taste terrible, but it peaked my interest. So the next time I got groceries, I grabbed some supplies and made my own version.

After one bite, I knew I had to share this sandwich with y’all here on the blog. It’s so dang good! The texture is perfect, and the flavors are balanced.

Ingredients you’ll need

  • Bread: Both sandwich sourdough bread and artisan sourdough bread are my favorites for this recipe.
  • Turkey breast: You’ll want to find uncured turkey breast from the deli.
  • Cheese: Mild cheddar cheese works the best for this recipe.
  • Iceberg lettuce: Just grab a head of lettuce and use one leaf for each sandwich.
  • Apple: You’re looking for a sweet but tart apple that has a good crunch. My favorite is the pink lady apple.

I just tried this recipe for the first time and absolutely loved it! It’s a simple twist on the classic turkey sandwich, but let me just say it’s a GAMECHANGER. If you’re like me, cooking isn’t a strong suit, so I’m always looking for quick and easy. This hits the spot!
