I love the flavor of these burgers; they’re so savory and much lighter than a beef burger. Although a hamburger is still my favorite! I love the hint of Parmesan; it goes perfectly with the chicken and spices.

How to Make Ground Chicken Burgers
Note: Please see the recipe card at the bottom of this blog post for the full written recipe.
Heat a skillet over medium heat with avocado oil or high heat olive oil.

Place everything in a large mixing bowl and mix until combined. Avoid over-mixing.

Divide mixture into 2 equal sections and either shape each into a burger with your hands (about 1/2 inch thick) or scoop into the skillet and spread out with spoon until 1/2 inch thick).

Once oil is hot, place burgers in the skillet and cook for 3-5 minutes, don’t move them so they develop a crust, then flip and cook for another 3-5 minutes or until fully cooked. Cooking time will vary depending on thickness of burger. If you have a small skillet, do one at a time.
Remove from the heat and enjoy!
How to Cook Ground Chicken Burgers in the Oven
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place your flattened burgers on the baking sheet, about 3 inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes, flip, and then bake for an additional 8–10 minutes or until fully cooked.

My Favorite Buns for Chicken Burgers
My absolute favorite buns for ground chicken burgers are sourdough brioche buns. I love making them fresh the same day I make these burgers. But any bun will work!

Leftover Storage Instructions
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. I prefer the freezer for the best taste.

Best Way to Reheat Chicken Burgers
I like to reheat these burgers from the freezer (or fridge) in a pan or the oven until warm. It preserves the flavor and texture.
How to Make Ahead
You can make these ground chicken burger patties ahead of time and place them in the fridge instead of cooking them. Uncooked patties can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
If you want ready-to-go burgers, you can cook the patties and place them in the freezer once they’ve cooled down. They’ll last up to three months in the freezer. When you’re ready, pop them in a skillet, grill, or oven until warm.
Or you can freeze uncooked patties for up to 3 months in the freezer. Let them thaw in the fridge overnight before you cook them, then continue with the recipe as normal.
Variations To Try
- Add fresh diced onion and minced garlic for an even fresher flavor.
- Try a little fresh cilantro in the mix for a twist.
- Add Italian seasoning for a specialty burger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Make sure the patties are assembled well into a sturdy patty; don’t flatten them too much.
I’ve never needed to add one, but it can depend on the type of burger you’re making and the ground chicken you’re using.
For my recipe, you mix the ingredients and shape the meat with your hands into patties.
Avoid overmixing. It can cause tough burgers.
Adding plenty of spices and sea salt!

Hi can I airfry these burgers , and if yes for how long
Hello, yes you can air fry these chicken burgers. I don’t have an air fryer but I did a little research for you and you’ll want to cook them in your air fryer at 400 degrees for 7 minutes or until they’re completely cooked inside.
