Homemade Garlic Butter

My homemade garlic butter is made with only 3 simple ingredients. It’s super easy to make and tastes so much better than any you’ll get at a restaurant! Not to mention it’s better for you. I came up with this recipe while trying to save money when ordering out pizza. Instead of buying a cup of garlic butter, I developed this recipe to make it at home. We’ve not bought garlic butter since! I hope you love it just as much as we do!

Anytime we order a pizza from our local pizza restaurant, I whip up a batch of this garlic butter. I’ll let the butter sit out on the counter while we go pick it up in town. Then, when I get home, I’ll add the garlic and salt. It mixes up in a minute and tastes so much better than if we bought it out!

I also love whipping this stuff up for dinner rolls to make them extra delicious, or spreading it on toast for an easy garlic bread side with pasta or soup. There’s so many ways you can use this recipe!

Inspiration Behind My Homemade Garlic Butter Recipe

Like I said in the introduction of this recipe blog post, I wanted to save money by making garlic butter at home. It costs anywhere from $1-$2 at pizza places. Sure, that’s not a ton of money, but it adds up.

I wanted to make a garlic butter without additives, colorings, and ingredients you can’t pronounce. It not only saves money but tastes better than the restaurants. Plus, if you like extra garlic, you can add more and customize it!

  1. Let the butter come to room temperature by sitting it on the countertop for 30 minutes to an hour before using.
  2. Use a fork to mash the sea salt and garlic powder into the butter.
  3. If desired for a thinner dipping sauce, heat it on the stovetop in a small pan.
