Sourdough Avocado Toast Recipe Inspiration

Last summer I kept seeing avocado toast pop up on Pinterest, in magazines, and even on Google. I’d never tried it but I’ve always liked avocado slices on tacos and nachos. So the next time I bought groceries I added a few avocados to the cart. I went home and started experimenting until I created the perfect flavor.

I’ve been enjoying this healthy breakfast for over a year now and it’s still just as good as the first time I whipped it up. It’s such an easy recipe, I never thought of putting it on the blog until now. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 of an avocado
  • 1 slice of sourdough bread
  • pinch of salt (if bagel seasoning has salt leave this out)
  • 1 tsp everything bagel seasoning

Step-By-Step Instructions

Toast a slice of sourdough bread to your liking.

Cut an avocado in half vertically, twist open, and remove the seed.

Save one half in the fridge for later in an air-tight container (add lemon juice to prevent browning).

Scoop out the insides of the other half into a bowl.

Mash with a fork and sprinkle in sea salt.

Once the toast is done, use a fork to spread the mashed avocado on it.

Storage

Avocado toast doesn’t save well so I recommend eating it right away.
