With the summer heat here to stay, I wanted to create a wholesome supper recipe that would be simple to whip up. So I started doing a little digging into what flavors are popular in June and came across a trend of citrus fruits. That’s when I got the idea to develop this citrus marinated chicken breast recipe.

Ingredients You’ll Need
- boneless skinless chicken breasts
- oranges
- a lemon
- raw honey
- sea salt
- ground black pepper
- dried thyme
- garlic powder
- a yellow onion

How to Make Citrus Marinated Chicken Breast

Add the juice from both oranges and the lemon, honey, salt, pepper, thyme, and garlic to a bowl and mix to combine. Set aside for now.
Lightly grease a casserole dish with avocado oil or olive oil
Dice half of an onion into small chunks and add them to the casserole dish along with both chicken breasts.

Pour the citrus mixture over chicken and onions.
Cover the casserole dish and place it in the fridge for 2- 8 hours to marinate.
Preheat the oven to 375 and get the casserole dish out of the fridge while you wait.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Enjoy!
Recipe Variations
You can use any type of chicken you’d like for this recipe. If you’re using a bone-in cut, add a few extra minutes to ensure the chicken is cooked fully.
If you’d like, you can add lime juice or grapefruit juice to this recipe. Both would be tasty.
