Inspiration Behind My Ground Chicken Burgers
With Memorial Day just around the corner, I developed a sourdough hamburger bun recipe, and I needed a burger to go with it. I wanted to develop a burger recipe that was wholesome and lighter than the traditional beef burger. Although beef burgers are my favorite, these are a delicious way to mix up summer suppers!

How to Make Ground Chicken Burgers

Place everything in a large mixing bowl and combine with a spoon.

Divide the mixture into 4 equal sections and shape each into a 1-2 inch-thick burger using your hands.

Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little avocado oil or butter.
Once heated, place the burgers in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes, then flip and cook for another 6-7 minutes. If you have a small skillet, do one at a time.
Remove from the heat and enjoy!
How to Cook Ground Chicken Burgers in the Oven
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place your flattened burgers on the baking sheet, about 3 inches apart. Bake for 10 minutes, flip, and then bake for an additional 8–10 minutes until fully cooked.

Serving Ground Chicken Burgers
The best way to serve these burgers is on a homemade sourdough hamburger bun with lettuce and a few slices of cheese. You can also serve them without a bun, if you prefer.
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in the fridge for 2–3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Making Ahead Tips
You can make these ground chicken burger patties ahead of time and place them in the fridge instead of cooking them. Uncooked patties can be made up to 24 hours in advance.
If you want ready-to-go burgers, cook the patties and place them in the freezer once they’re cooled down. They’ll last up to 3 months in the freezer. When ready to enjoy them, pop them in a skillet until warm.

Recipe FAQ
How do you keep burgers from breaking apart?
When shaping your burgers, pack them into their burger shape with gentle force. If you mash the ground chicken together too hard, it can make the burgers break apart.
Does ground chicken need a binder?
Usually, ground chicken does not need a binder like flour or breadcrumbs unless it’s extra dry.
How do you keep ground meat together for burgers?
For my recipe, you mix the ingredients and shape the meat with your hands into burgers.
How do you keep ground chicken tender?
You’ll want to cook the ground chicken on low to medium heat to prevent it from drying out. Too much heat will zap the moisture.

Hi can I airfry these burgers , and if yes for how long
Hello, yes you can air fry these chicken burgers. I don’t have an air fryer but I did a little research for you and you’ll want to cook them in your air fryer at 400 degrees for 7 minutes or until they’re completely cooked inside.
